The National Association for the Education of Young Children

We are proud to have achieved NAEYC accreditation for the Academy. The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) provides a framework for achieving excellence in early childhood educational programming through its accreditation process. As described by NAEYC: “The comprehensive nature of the NAEYC Early Learning Program Accreditation Standards and Assessment Items outlined …with its combined focus on children, staff, partnerships, and administration —promotes program accountability and makes it possible for programs to consistently provide high quality learning experiences for each child and maintain the infrastructure needed to sustain this high level of quality over time.”

Every five years our program seeks to renew our accreditation by submitting new program and classroom portfolios documenting our adherence to the 10 standards criteria in the areas of: relationships, curriculum, teaching, assessment of child progress, health, staff competencies, families, community relationships, physical environment, and leadership & management. We also submit to a site visit from a NAEYC assessor who observes the program’s compliance of the criteria in our daily operations. The accreditation process is a continuous opportunity for the Academy to reflect and improve the operational and educational environment of our program.
